Renaissance Scholars Engagement & Admissions Specialist East Bay
Under the general supervision of the AVP/Deans of Students, the RSP Engagement & Admissions Specialist will provide a full range of academic support services and cultural activities to promote success for students participating in the campus RSP Program. This position is responsible for improving and delivering service to students through administration, technology and communication. The RSP & Admissions Specialist will assist with program planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation. Additionally, this position will collaborate with faculty and staff to address student and program needs and to develop strategies that support the recruitment, retention and graduation of students.
Clinical Assistant, PrEPping the Bay (Temporary) East Bay
The purpose of the PrEPping the Bay Program within the Student Health and Counseling Services is to support PrEP navigation services for Cal State East Bay students with the goal of increasing PrEP and PEP initiation and retention amongst students with perceived increased risk for HIV infection. In doing so, this position will assist in the students' optimal state of overall health so they may achieve their academic and career goals. Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Health Services and the Nurse Lead or other designee, the Clinical Assistant performs a wide variety of reception, patient intake and enrollment, electronic health records maintenance and performs various duties to assist with the needs of the PrEPping the Bay program and Student Health and Counseling Services. This is a temporary, full-time grant funded position through June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
Administrative Support - PrEPping the Bay Program (Temporary/Part-Time) East Bay
The purpose of the PrePping the Bay Program (PTB) within the Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) is to support PrEP navigation services for Cal State East Bay students with the goal of increasing PrEP and PEP initiation and retention amongst students with perceived increased risk for HIV infection. In doing so, this position will assist in the students' optimal state of overall health to support them in achieving their academic and career goals. Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Health Services and the Nurse Lead or other designee, the Administrative Support Assistant performs administrative support duties including but not limited to personnel, payroll, accounting, and procurement processes, electronic health records maintenance, and various other duties to assist with the needs of the PrEPping the Bay program and Student Health and Counseling Services. This is a grant funded, temporary and part-time (20 hours per week) position through June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
Assistant Area Coordinator - Temporary Live-In Position East Bay
Employed by the Department of University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL), the Assistant Area Coordinator (AAC) is a full-time, temporary live-in position. The AAC at Cal State East Bay is expected to initiate “high-touch” front-line interaction with students as they develop formal and informal relationships. They are expected to build communities that focus on student learning and development, supporting student needs, and inclusivity for all students. The AAC will support and work with their supervisor and team leader(s) in managing the functions of their assigned residential area. This role will not conform to a standard 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM work day, rather it requires the individual to work evenings and weekends in order to best meet the needs of the community. This is a full-time, temporary live-in position through November 1, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment not to exceed three (3) years from date of hire.
Patient Support Services Lead East Bay
Under the general direction of the Student Health Services Director, the Patient Support Services Lead (Registered Nurse III) is responsible for the operation and oversight of Patient Support Services. This includes but is not limited to front office duties of reception, patient intake and medical records, back office clinical support duties and clinical laboratory functions. This position also provides some skilled nursing services and performs Public Health activities for both the Hayward and Concord campus communities. This position may require occasional coverage at Cal State East Bay’s Concord campus.
Project IMPACT (Trio Grant) - Program Coordinator (Temporary) East Bay
Under the general direction of the Director, the Project IMPACT Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring all mandated services under the program, as well as providing direct service support to students for non-mandated services. The Program Coordinator will be required to monitor the budget and ensure all program activities remain within grant-mandated limits; ensure all policies and procedures are followed as outlined in Federal, State and University guidelines in daily operations and decisions; conduct workshops in the areas of academic skills building, personal finance, financial aid, wellness, and assistive technology as mandated by the approved grant; and maintain all data, records and reports required by the grant program, including the Annual Performance Report, Annual Student Survey, and Graduation/Retention reports. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be fully trained and attend updated sessions on grant reporting and documentation requirements under EDGAR, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other areas to ensure students have complete and full access to all University programmatic facilities and services. This is a temporary, full-time, grant funded position through August 31, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment.
DISARC Office Manager (Temporary) East Bay
Under the supervision of the Director, Diversity & Inclusion Student Affinity and Resource Centers (DISARC) and the work lead direction of the Student Leadership and Involvement Center (SLIC) Office Manager, the DISARC Office Manager provides administrative assistant support to the DISARC department. This includes but is not limited to providing front-line reception for students, staff, faculty and guests of the campus, while also providing administrative support to the DISARC staff members. This position will work closely with and assist in the lead work direction of student assistants performing administrative tasks in support of the DISARC department. This is a full-time, temporary position through August 31, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
Counselor Faculty in SEAS East Bay
Working under the supervision of the Director of Counseling, the SSP-AR I 12 Month counselor in Student Equity and Success (SEAS) provides intake assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term individual, and couples, and group counseling to students of the University who participate in SEAS programs. The Counselor works collaboratively with the Student Health and Counseling team, the SEAS team, and campus and community partners in a multidisciplinary approach to help students achieve and maintain optimum wellness. The counselor designs and implements outreach programs and serves as a liaison to the SEAS programs. The counselor also contributes to the clinical staff through participating in consultation and trainings, and may also provide individual and group supervision to pre-licensed MFT, MSW, and PCC associates.
Fieldwork Supervisor Pool AY 24-25: Department of Teacher Education East Bay
The Department of Teacher Education seeks one or more temporary, part-time Fieldwork Supervisors for a pool from which applicants will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2024 and/or Spring Semester 2025.
Grant Program Assistant (Temporary) East Bay
The Supported Decision Making grant is an 18-month grant that is focused on creating training modules for professionals in what supported decision making is. In addition, the grant will fund a statewide conference focused on this topic. The Grant Program Assistant works closely with and under the guidance of the Project Lead Researcher/Co-Investigator and will work directly with the project team.  This position will interface with university faculty and staff, funders, and students and will be responsible for coordinating meetings, creating publicity for the grant's efforts, creating and maintaining grant materials in online platforms (i.e., google, CANVAS), assist with the creation of online modules, assist and promote a statewide conference. Please Note: This is a part-time, (60% time base), grant-funded, temporary position through June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
Custodian (Temporary) East Bay
Work assignments typically include cleaning and maintaining assigned areas which includes activities such as: cleaning and dusting all surfaces, removing trash and recyclables, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and replenishing supplies; cleaning glass doors and windows, and blinds; cleaning stairwells, walkways and elevators, and performing general housekeeping; clean and maintain floors including sweeping, dry and/or wet mopping; stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors, vacuuming, spot and full cleaning of carpets. Assistant Professor of Writing Languages and Literatures (Composition and Rhetoric) East Bay
The Department of Writing, Languages, and Literature seeks a full-time tenure-track position to serve as administrator, teacher, and scholar who is interested in first year composition curriculum and pedagogy. This role involves teaching undergraduate composition courses, coordinating the composition program, and developing innovative and culturally relevant curriculum. The faculty member should sustain an active research agenda and provide support to university initiatives such as increasing first-year retention rates and eliminating equity gaps for historically underserved students in first-year composition. The successful candidate’s teaching, research, and administrative experience engage with race and ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and ability status and who are prepared to develop and teach writing courses that address interdisciplinary themes of racial/ethnic equity and inclusion, social justice, and environmental sustainability. This faculty position requires demonstrated evidence of training, experience, or research in multimodal literacy and/or AI applications in composition, and working with first year composition faculty in professional development and support.
Associate Vice President, Financial Services East Bay
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Financial Services reports to the Vice President, Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Incumbent provides effective management and oversight of financial services which includes the following functions: accounting, student financials, procurement, accounts payable, and the University Bay card program. The AVP provides leadership to a diverse financial support staff focused on delivering user-friendly services in an environment that is highly regulated and compliant driven and requires collaboration and transparency. Incumbent is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the Vice President/CFO relative to overall University objectives, policies, and plans whenever financial services is involved. As part of the Administration and Finance leadership team, the AVP collaborates with his/her peers to create innovative solutions to intra-and inter-division issues while focusing on the university’s strategic commitments and major goal of enhancing student success. The University Police Department is a California Police Department responsible for the prevention of crime and the enforcement of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations on the Cal State East. Bay campus. Under the general supervision of the Chief of Police, the sergeant is responsible for: coordinating resource systems in support of the Department’s administrative and operational functions, providing research assistance to Department managers in the development of the organization, providing leadership and supervision to assigned employees.
Painter East Bay
This position performs the work of a journey level painter. Expectations require knowledge and methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the painting trade including: painting, finishing, drywall, surface preparation, road and parking striping, mold mitigation and a thorough knowledge of applicable state codes and regulations including safety orders, completion of work assignments and completion of daily time cards.
Groundsworker East Bay
The main function of the Groundsworker position is to maintain the campus grounds in a way that provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for the staff, faculty, students and the community.  Under general supervision, this position performs work involving some or all of the following: planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying and watering ornamental plants, shrubs, hedges, trees, lawns and flowers. The Groundsworker is also responsible for raking, removing weeds, cleaning trash from assigned areas including parking lots; preparing and treating soils for planting, maintaining hoses, sprinklers, tools, supplies and equipment in proper condition and repair. Additionally, trimming of trees, hedges, shrubs, and install tree supports. This position may operate and perform minor repairs and maintenance on power equipment such as lawn mowers, edger’s, and weed eaters and assist in preparing athletic fields for events.  The Groundsworker  may occasionally assist a in sprinkler repair, spraying, tree trimming, or nursery functions, operate trucks and other equipment in performance of assigned duties. In addition, this position may construct flower beds, maintain drainage systems, remove brush and trees, collects trash, and helps to install concrete and asphalt.
Laborer (Temporary) East Bay
This position will be working at the California State University East Bay campus located in Hayward, California. This position is in the Logistics Department of Facilities Development and Operations. Primary duties include moving heavy objects such as furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies; cleaning applicable equipment; and assisting in other cleaning and or grounds work assignments. Additionally, this position will remove and haul waste and recyclables from designated areas, provide setup for campus events and perform special clean-up activities as needed and use a motor vehicle to transport and deliver heavy equipment or other items.
Equipment Technician I - 10/12 Pay Plan (Temporary) East Bay
The Equipment Technician is assigned to oversee and be responsible for the Music Equipment office. This position is responsible for the repair, maintenance, issuance, movement, set-up, storage, and inventory control of musical instruments, equipment, and accessories for the Department of Music as well as other University departments, University offices, and private parties using property assigned to the Music Department. Please note, this is a full-time, temporary position through July 31, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment. Additionally, this is a 10/12 pay plan position - the incumbent will work 10 months out of the year (August - May) with the salary spread over 12 months.
Project IMPACT (Trio Grant) - Academic Success & Wellness Counselor (Temporary) East Bay
The primary purpose of this position is to provide academic advising and academic wellness counseling to participating students. The Project Impact - Academic Success & Wellness Counselor supports students in completing their post-secondary education by providing targeted advice related to class selection, the development of educational plans and monitors the academic progress of students in the program. Furthermore, the Academic Success and Wellness Counselor provides academic wellness counseling to support students in the development of non-cognitive skills including academic & realistic self-appraisal, growth mindset, locus of control, positive self-concept, motivation and long term goal setting. This position will function as a team member of Project IMPACT and will assist the Project IMPACT Program Coordinator with carrying out the requirements of the grant. This is a temporary, full-time, grant funded position through August 31, 2025, with the possibility of re-appointment for a maximum of three years from the date of hire.
